We have just returned from an incredible week at Diamonds Thudufushi, and it exceeded every expectation we had.
The island itself is stunning - crystal-clear turquoise water, beautiful white sand, and a house reef that is simply spectacular. As keen snorkellers, we were blown away by the marine life. During our stay we swam with a juvenile whale shark, several reef mantas (including one that passed directly beneath us), hawksbill turtles, eagle rays, blacktip reef sharks, barracuda, countless reef fish and so much more. Even the visiting marine biologists commented on how incredibly lucky we were, as many trips before and during our stay hadn’t been as successful.
One of the things that impressed us most was the resort’s commitment to marine conservation. The Maldives is one of the world’s most precious ecosystems, and anyone choosing to holiday here should think about the environmental impact of their visit. Thudufushi clearly takes this responsibility seriously. From reef protection initiatives and marine conservation work to the educational opportunities provided by the resident and visiting marine biologists, it was inspiring to see tourism and conservation working hand in hand. We left not only with amazing memories but also with a much greater understanding and appreciation of this unique environment.
The staff were exceptional. Every member of the team was friendly, welcoming and genuinely seemed to care that guests had the best possible experience.
We spent a little extra to stay in an over water villa, all-inclusive option which then gave access to the al-a-carte over water restaurant and the buffet style restaurant.
Al-a-carte is Italian cuisine and it was amazing!
A special mention must go to the restaurant team. I have a severe gluten allergy and had been quite anxious before travelling. I needn’t have worried. The chefs and waiting staff took my allergy seriously from day one, preparing delicious gluten-free meals and even making special items that weren’t on the buffet so I never felt like I was missing out. It made such a difference and allowed me to relax completely.
The weather reminded us that nature is in charge, with some windy and rainy periods, but even then the island remained beautiful and the team always prioritised guest safety for water activities.
If you’re looking for a relaxed, unpretentious island with exceptional snorkelling, wonderful food, outstanding staff, and a resort that genuinely values and protects the incredible marine environment that makes the Maldives so special, Diamonds Thudufushi is hard to beat.
Thank you to everyone at Thudufushi for giving us memories we’ll treasure forever. We can’t wait to return.

An excellent resort with nice and friendly staff.
Almost all of the staff were very nice and tried their best to help when requested. Mily and Faizaan from guest service, Raul from Water Sports, Shree in the bar, and all the chefs were super helpful and friendly. Thank you for making our short stay a memorable one.

What an amazing place, 10/10 recommend!
Before I start to share my experience, I already want to highlight the staff at this place. We want to give a special shoutout to Shady, our tour guide on all the snorkling trips. He made sur this was the trip of a lifetime, while making sur everyone was being respectfull of the nature. I hereby nominate him for employee of the month…!
We came in on the first day around 15:00, and were immediatly welcomed into the family. The staff is amazing. Everyone was super kind and helpfull, but not in a must be kind like way. They were just such nice people to hang out with. And a big plus for the beachvolleybal team ofcourse😉
We had a beach junior suite which was fine. Nothing special, but you don’t need it on such an island. It was spacious, clean and well mantainanced. The view and placement was the big positive. From our room you just walked onto the beach, into the water. Great for snorkling.
The food is absolutuly amazing! The buffet restaurant (if you can call it that) has 5 chefs who prepare the food fresh in front of you. I would honestly pay a lot of money to eat in a restaurant like this in The Netherlands.
The bars are also very nice, clean, good seating areas and the drinks are perfect.
The house reef is amazing, we saw sharks, turtles, great colourfull corals and so many fish!
The trips for the snorkling are the thing that made our entire trip. We saw manta’s, dolphins and 2 whale sharks. The way the crew handles these trips is amazing, the best i’ve ever had!
The water sports like kajakking and paddle board is free, which is awesome to fill up your day. Also the snorkling gear is up to standards.
The only negative point for me was the WIFI. This was very bad. In the room, we had our own router but it still got only 1mb/s download. At the restaurant and the bars there is almost nog wifi. For 50 dollars you can buy “high speed WIFI”, which we did, and this was okay but still not amazing. For a resort of this class (and cost) we expected this to be a bit better. Would be a great upgrade!
Overall our trip was amazing and we will be coming back when we go back to the Maldives!

We’re frequent guests in the Maldives, so we have solid benchmarks, but every time we return to a Rosso Family resort, we leave as delighted guests once more. At Thudufushi, we loved the slow approach, the perfect blend of traditional Maldivian style and Italian flair, the deep respect for nature, and the best food ever—light yet bursting with flavor. It’s a private holiday with just the right social moments, surrounded by kind and discreet people and an exceptional staff delivering impeccable service. Priceless! Absolutely recommended!

Welcoming touches like homemade iced tea and cold towels made it even more special.
We truly lived the dream for 6 unforgettable nights!
The private villas are beyond words — absolutely stunning. Every single staff member was amazing, always warm, helpful, and professional.
The buggy service was super convenient, taking us to the restaurant or bar anytime. Bar service was excellent, and the always-available snack bar was such a treat — fresh coconut slices were my favorite!
The views, the nature, the corals… everything was just flawless.
Wishing to come back again very soon — an unforgettable experience!
